Information Technology is a rapidly growing field in Maine, with hundreds of different job openings available from web developers to systems technicians to help-desk staff. Eastern Maine Community College offers a number of high-quality degree programs and certifications to help build a path to a successful career in IT.

Computer Systems Technology

Students receive a solid foundation in the functional components and operating systems of modern computers, and gain experience in configuring, maintaining and upgrading a variety of systems. Graduates can assume a variety of positions such as computer systems technician, computer technician, computer maintenance technician, computer network installer, computer network technician, network administrator, telecommunications technician, and help desk service provider.

Digital Graphic Design

Digital graphics is all around us—from ads in magazines and logos on coffee cups to tee shirts you see on the streets and political signs posted at election time. At EMCC, we offer a program in Digital Graphic Design to fit the ever-expanding opportunities in this rewarding field. Our associate in applied science degree in Digital Graphic Design is designed to prepare students for employment as designers who work with printed and digital media. Students entering the job market will be hired as graphic designers, photographers, print media designers, illustrators, and web designers.
