EMCC – School Code: 005277
Welcome! The Office of Student Aid attempts to make our college affordable by providing financial assistance and advice to current and prospective students and parents. While students have the primary responsibility for financing their post-secondary education, there are Federal, State and college grants, scholarships, loans, and student employment to assist them. Financial aid is based on the student’s annual completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the availability of funds.
Click on the Financial Aid TV button to find answers to your basic questions about the financial aid process; eligibility; and types of aid, such as grants, loans, scholarships, student employment and student loans. Each video is only 1-2 minutes in length and explains important financial aid topics in an easy to understand style and format.
2015-2016 Academic Year
Priority FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Filing Deadlines
The Student Aid Office awards student aid on a first-come, first serve basis. Students who meet the FAFSA filing deadlines and complete their financial aid files first, are the first to receive their award letters.
These deadlines are used to determine priority application processing:
FAFSA Filing Priority Deadline:
- Incoming First Year Students May 1, 2015
- Returning Students April 24, 2015
- Summer 2015 Work Study Applicants April 24, 2015
- Incoming Students (January 2016 Admit) December 18, 2015
If funds are available, FAFSA applications received after the above deadlines will be considered for financial assistance.
Important! The Free Application For Federal Student Aid may be filed on or after January 1, 2015 or the upcoming academic year. It is important to complete the FAFSA when you apply for admissions to any degree, diploma, or certificate program at EMCC.
Do not wait for the formal acceptance to EMCC before filing your financial aid application!
