The Bangor AmeriCorps Opportunity Collaborative, “Strategy to enhance the lives of people in Bangor, Maine” is a collaboration between Eastern Maine Community College, the City of Bangor and community partner organizations to improve the economic well-being and security of economically-disadvantaged citizens living in Bangor.  Members serve to address critical basic needs while simultaneously working to increase employment opportunities through job/skill training and education.  The program’s members will focus on economic opportunity by delivering financial literacy and job-skills training, by assisting the transition into or remaining in safe, healthy, and affordable housing, and by helping to identify wraparound services with community providers as needed.
