Registration is required due to seating limits and training materials provided. Registration for events closes at 5:00 p.m. on the day prior to the training. Suicide Awareness and Prevention – Katahdin Hall-room 316, 4/25/12 – 3:00 p.m.
This program aims to educate students, staff, and faculty about the warning signs of suicide, dispel myths about suicide and self-injurious behavior, as well as teach intervention techniques and where to go for help. 45 minutes, limited to 16 participants
Safe Zone Training – Katahdin Hall-room 316, 4/18/12 – 3:00 p.m.
Safe Zone is a program created to expand the overall campus community’s understanding and awareness of issues faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) individuals. Safe Zone is designed to identify employees and students of Eastern Maine Community College who are knowledgeable about and supportive of LGBTQ issues. 1 hour, limited to 16 participants
Healthy College Relationships: How to have and maintain them! — Katahdin Hall-room 310, 4/20/12 – 11:00 a.m.
This interactive workshop will help students to learn the basic differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships of all types. Assertiveness skills, good communication techniques, and conflict resolution will be covered. 45 minutes, limited to 12 participants
