Eastern Maine Community College Culinary Arts Students Sweep Awards at Maine Harvest Festival

BANGOR, ME — Students from Eastern Maine Community College’s Culinary Arts program swept the awards for the student category at the 7th Annual Maine Harvest Festival this past weekend. In addition, second year Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management student Mariana Murphy was awarded a $1,000 scholarship, provided by the Maine Harvest Festival and presented to Mariana by EMCC President Dr. Lisa Larson and Bangor City Councilor Ben Sprague.

Culinary Arts Chair Chef Jay Demers, assisted by first and second year Culinary Arts students, provided a demonstration (including individually made samples) for attendees while showcasing a dozen Maine food vendor products. Several EMCC students participated in the presentation, as well as a pie contest which saw 52 entries in all.

The following EMCC Culinary Arts students were presented with ribbons and accompanying cash prizes:

Third Place – Jordan Soucie
