The Hancock County Higher Education Center is an off-campus center of Eastern Maine Community College and the University of Maine System. It is the mission of the Hancock County Center to provide access to higher education close to home. In meeting that mission the Center advocates for the educational needs of the community and assists new and returning students with pre-admission and financial aid counseling, placement testing, and course registration. Academic advising, tutoring, study skills workshops, computer access, library services and student activities are available to help support individual student success.

Each year more than 350 students participate in Eastern Maine Community College and University of Maine System courses and degree programs at the center. Upon completing an associate degree from Eastern Maine Community College, students can continue their baccalaureate degree through University of Maine System programming available at the center.

In addition the Hancock County Center works in collaboration with EMCC’s Business & Industry Center, to meet the workforce training and professional development needs of community businesses. Customized contract training can be arranged by contacting the center.

The Hancock County Higher Education Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. and Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.
