May 1, 2012

(This is the second interview from a collection that will be featured on www.emcc.edu. Each month we will introduce a new artist from the EMCC Community including students, staff, alumni and faculty members. All Artists featured in this online collection recently showed work at the 2012 EMCC Art Show. I had the pleasure of meeting and learning more about them at the Artist’s Reception on February 9th at the EMCC Library. Please send any feedback or questions to Katrina Mumford at 974-4617 or kmumford@emcc.edu )

Gary Bellefleur III was born and raised in Stetson, Maine and currently resides in Old Town. The 2011-2012 academic year is his second year at EMCC and and only his first year in the Digital Graphic Design program. When asked about his reasoning for pursuing photography Bellefleur told us “I have always wanted to combine my passions in life with my career. Art and photography have always held a special place in my heart. When I was flipping through the college catalog, during my first semester, Digital Graphic Design really jumped out at me.I had always really wanted to learn how to use Photoshop and learn more about photography. Plus it gave me the perfect excuse to spend the money on a nice DSLR camera that I had always wanted. I am really glad I chose the Digital Graphic Design program…I really enjoy doing my homework and look forward to going to class”

Bellefleur plans on finishing his degree at EMCC and hopes to combine his passions for cars and racing with what he learn at EMCC to start a career in automotive advertising and/or doing photography as well as writing and graphic design for automotive web sites. He would like to work with a local small business doing  product photography and advertising to exercise the skills he learned this past semester in his commercial photography class with James Daigle.

If you or someone you know would like to book a session for an automotive photo shoot they can contact Gary Bellefleur at (207) 478-7554 or drop him an email to Teg2kGSR@Yahoo.com.
