A crowd of 25 including students from a drawing class attended the art reception for Sandra Strahan on May 2nd, 2013 and enjoyed viewing the 14 sculptures by Sandra and learning more about her source of inspiration for her sculptures. Sandra has lived in Maine for many years now and feels deeply connected to the people and place. She has worked with metal and clay sculpture and enjoys the tactile sense of molding and shaping primarily abstract forms. She likes to experiment with shapes and colors to achieve sometimes abstract and sometimes recognizable forms. Sandra spoke about how the never ending shapes, colors and textures that surround us are a source of inspiration for her sculptures.
