EMCC Early Education Student Kristi Raymond gives us a recap on a day of Service Learning

Sixteen EMCC students participated in a Service Learning Project at McGraw Elementary School in Hampden on Thursday Jan. 24th.  We were dispersed among 17 K-2 classrooms with a total of 350 students.  We each led hands on activities in physical science for the children.  This was such a great way to get out into the community and apply the skills that we’ve been learning in our classroom.  The focus of “Science Day” was to create a fun environment where the children could have a hands on learning experience.  Since then I have heard so much positive feedback from the faculty as well as the children.  Not only was this a great day for the children but also a learning experience for myself and my fellow students as well.
