Program Details

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program is a 130-hour program consisting of 70 hours of classroom time, 20 hours of lab time, and 40 hours of clinical work.  Students who complete this course will sit for the Maine CNA competency test.

Through the Maine Jobs & Recovery Plan, EMCC will offer this program to a limited number of qualified individuals at no cost to the students. The costs associated with the following will be waived for individuals who qualify for the program:

  • Tuition
  • Fees
  • Textbooks
  • Criminal background checks
  • One certification exam
  • Voucher for scrubs

Program Schedule

Cohorts are anticipated in multiple locations for the 2023-2024 Academic Year.

There will be a limited number of seats available in this program, and completion of this form does not guarantee enrollment. Acceptance into the program will be offered once all pre-enrollment materials are received.


Application/Enrollment Requirements:

  • 18 years of age by the start of the course
  • Maine state resident
  • Copy of high school transcript, GED or HiSET, and/or higher education transcript (if applicable, for credit transfer review)
  • Clean criminal record and signed background check waiver form
  • Signed Assumption of Risk form
  • Required Immunizations: See Immunization History Form
