Eastern Maine Community College received a truck donated by Freightliner of Maine for use in its Diesel, Truck & Heavy Equipment program. Freightliner of Maine delivered the truck to EMCC’s campus on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. The 2011 Freightliner boasts a DD13 engine, 10-speed transmission, and is equipped with a Thermal King auxiliary power unit.
“The donation of this truck gives Eastern Maine Community College the ability to train our students on newer and more modern equipment,” says Lowell Gardner, Chair of EMCC’s Diesel, Truck & Heavy Equipment program.
EMCC is currently developing a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) program, with hopes to offer it in the Spring of 2018.
Since 1992, Freightliner of Maine has sold and serviced new and used trucks, and now operates three full-service dealerships, two parts stores, and two satellite locations throughout the state of Maine.
