JOB MISSION:
As a Mechanic IV you will be responsible for ensuring that the facility’s manufacturing equipment is maintained and repaired. Monitor breakdowns and develop a preventative maintenance schedule.

 

 

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Assist less experienced support technicians during repair projects; and work closely with team in an effort to cross train them on all manufacturing machinery and equipment.
Utilize a broad range of hand power tools to perform various duties.
Develop and enhance your team’s mechanical abilities and support problem solving activities on machinery.
Follow safety rules and regulations and maintain quality standards. Proactively, identifies safety issues and communicates and coaches team members on improvements.
Work closely with seasoned members of your team to become cross-trained on all manufacturing machinery and equipment. Proactively supports training of Mechanic I, II and III team members.
Utilizes a working knowledge of all machinery, equipment and processes.  Supports cross training throughout all departments gaining knowledge of all machinery.
Maintain inventory of parts. Responsible for placing part orders.
Control downtime by informing team members of routine preventive maintenance techniques. Use down tracking to problem solve on going issues, improve PM’s and data collection.
Prioritizes work orders, ensures they are competed.
Point of contact for Team Leader’s and Supervisors of value streams, meets regularly to support ongoing operations.
Lead and track projects coordinating tasks to meet deadlines.
Prioritize activities by creating project plans and oversees completion of projects working closely with their department Supervisor.
Report out monthly on machine up time for responsible teams and communicate corrective actions.
Help lead TPM/Lean initiatives.
Serves as the technical leader for their area and works with other Mechanics to identify, solve and implement new initiatives.
Serves as the inspiration and talent developer for the team.
Ability to lead projects

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS
Licensed Electrician
5-8 years of broad related work experience utilizing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and robotic technologies. 2 year technical college education in electronics, robotics, or equivalent in a related field.
Must be willing to cross-train on all manufacturing machinery and equipment.
Accreditation from a certified trade school and a state Journeyman’s electrical license required.
Experience with electrical maintenance, trouble shooting and arc flash hazards.
Must be familiar with OSHA standards, such as Lockout/Tagout
Required to read and apply manuals, schematics, and instructions
Knowledge of PLC design, program and installation
Strong problem solving skills
Working experience with programmable controls and robots
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
Computer skills.
Ability to lead activities for their individual projects, lead TPM/Lean initiatives and lead groups
Ability to support and A3 Problem solving
Takes responsibility for seeing that all projects follow the guidelines and requirements established by the team.
Demonstrates initiative through drive and focus by leading a team to solve issues despite challenges.
Moderate to heavy lifting is required. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
