Do you love working with children, youth and young adults?
Join our BHP team and spend your shift doing a variety of creative and fun life skill teaching activities and community outings that will help children and young adults gain independence in their home and community. Now hiring for multiple positions throughout Penobscot, Piscataquis, Somerset and Kennebec Counties. Flexible, part-time positions of up to 20 hours per week in the afternoon and early evening: perfect for college students, teachers, ed techs or retirees looking for a few extra hours of fun and meaningful work per week. Paid training and certification provided upon hire.
We are looking for BHP’s in the following locations: Anson, St. Albans, Madison, Hartland, Bingham, Skowhegan, Waterville, Old Town, Pittsfield, Exeter, Bangor, Bradley & Bradford areas.
BHP Responsibilities:
Playing board or card games to teach directions or to appropriately handle the emotions that come from not winning.
Watching video clips to practice non-verbal cues.
Going to the playground to teach safety skills or how to initiate and maintain positive friendships.
Going to a store to teach money skills or independent interactions with store personnel.
Choosing and following a recipe to practice meal planning and cooking skills.
Helping with big emotions, learn how to self-soothe, or ask for help.
BHP Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must have valid Maine driver’s license in good standing with reliable transportation and automobile insurance.
Must have access to a cell phone or smart phone.
Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

Retirement Plans
The starting rate of pay for the Behavioral Health Professional is $16.98 per hour and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.
