Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program

CNA graduates

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program 180-hour program consists of 90 hours of classroom time, 20 hours of lab time and 70 hours of clinical work.  Students who complete this course will sit for the Maine CNA competency test in Bangor.

Minimum Qualifications for CNA program:

  • 16 years old
  • Completed 9th grade
  • Clean criminal record*
  • Current on required immunizations

To be considered for the Certified Nursing Assistant CNA Program you will need to complete the application above and then submit the following:

  • Application Essay
    An essay is required of all applicants and is reviewed as an important part of the selection process.  Please describe your career, educational, personal goals and why you want to take this course.  You should also include any previous healthcare experience and how you hope to use this training in the immediate future.
  • Criminal Background Check -The criminal background check is completed online and automatically sent to EMCC.
  • EMCC Health History Form 
  • Proof of completion of 9th grade
