What You Need to Know
Claim Your @MaineCC.edu Email (If you haven’t already)
If you haven’t yet logged into your MaineCC account, IT recently reset your password. Look for an email from ITHelp@mainecc.edu on May 21, 2025. This email will include your new email address and temporary password. Follow the instructions in the email to setup your account.

Access Your Resources
Begin using your MaineCC account immediately to access information and materials across different platforms.
- Brightspace – mccs.brightspace.com – Access your EMCC classes
- Clicking the green MaineCC Login button and entering your MaineCC credentials will get you access to your summer 2025 courses or your New Student Orientation.
- If you are not taking a summer course or are not required to complete New Student Orientation, your MaineCC account will not work in Brightspace until later this summer.
- Anthology – www.emcc.edu/anthology – Your student specific information
- Access your schedule, final grades, and other resources specific to just you.
- MyEMCC – www.emcc.edu/myemcc – EMCC’s intranet
- Access information about campus and EMCC resources specific to current students and employees.
What will my new email be?
Your new email will be in this format: firstname.lastname@mainecc.edu
If you share the same first and last name as another student, your email address may include a number at the end. If your name is longer than 17 letters, it will be shortened.
What is Anthology Student Portal?
The Anthology Student Portal is your gateway to the Maine Community College System’s services and resources. It offers easy access to your academic records, financial aid details, career services, and direct communication with staff and advisors.

Frequently Asked Questions
When will I start using my new account?
Generally, you will finish the Fall 2024 semester with your current @student.emcc.edu account then begin using your new @mainecc.edu account for the Spring 2025 semester.
It’s a good idea to setup your new account ahead of time to ensure you don’t miss any communications.
When will my current email account stop working?
Your old email account and content in it (email, calendars, OneDrive) will remain available until, at least, late July 2025.
How can I move my email from my college account to my new mainecc.edu account?

How do I sign into course supplements like MyMathLab or Cengage?
Continue to use your @student.emcc.edu account as the username for these 3rd party sites, unless specifically instructed to begin using your mainecc.edu account.
Any account which a student registered for using their @student.emcc.edu email address can be updated to the mainecc.edu address. See the service provider for instructions.
If I am graduating or transferring after the fall semester, do I need to claim my new email?
While you do not have to, you may wish to claim your new email so you can continue to communicate with the college in the Spring semester about Commencement, transcripts or faculty recommendations.
Will I even need my old email account after the migration?
College coursework will be conducted using the @mainecc.edu email accounts beginning in the Spring 2025 semester. Old email accounts will still be available to students, for incidental needs, such as subscriptions to online services (Cengage, MyMathLab, etc.) or to login to Brightspace to complete any course that extends beyond the end of the Fall 2024 semester.
New subscriptions should be registered using the new mainecc.edu address.
Can students access and send email from EMCC email accounts after they get their MaineCC account?
Yes, your old EMCC email account will remain available until at least the end of Spring 2025 semester.
What happens if an email is sent to my old email address?
Student email accounts will not be forwarded and student email data will not be migrated
Why am I being asked for personal email, phone, and security questions as part of account set up?
Your mainecc.edu account features self-service password recovery from Microsoft 365. This information helps Microsoft verify your identity when conducting account recovery and password reset operations.
Can I use the new email for student discounts?
Yes, however, ITS is not communicating the domain consolidation to 3rd parties, except those who programmatically exchange data with the college. Vendors who wish to verify that mainecc.edu is a college account can use the internet whois database to view our mainecc.edu domain record.
How do I use both the MaineCC and EMCC account at the same time?
You cannot be logged into two Microsoft 365 tenants simultaneously from the same browser session. There are multiple ways to accomplish this using multiple sessions. Click here for more instructions.
