While students have the primary responsibility for financing their education, there are Federal, State and college grants, scholarships, loans, and student employment to assist them. Financial aid is based on the student’s annual completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the availability of funds.

2019-2020 Academic Year

Priority FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Filing Deadlines
The Student Financial Aid Office awards student aid on a first-come, first-served basis. Students who meet the FAFSA filing deadlines and complete their financial aid files first are the first to receive their award letters.

These deadlines are used to determine priority application processing:

FAFSA Filing Priority Deadline:

  • Incoming First Year Students – April 30, 2019
  • Returning Students – April 1, 2019
  • Summer 2018 Work Study Applicants – April 8, 2019
  • Incoming Students (January 2020 Admit) – December 11, 2019

If funds are available, FAFSA applications received after the above deadlines will be considered for financial assistance.

Important! The Free Application for Federal Student Aid may be filed on or after October 1, 2018 for the 2019-2020 academic year. It is important to complete the FAFSA when you apply for admissions to any degree, diploma, or certificate program at EMCC. Click Here to complete the FAFSA.
