Financial Aid

Did you know? 86% of full-time, first-time degree-seeking students at Eastern Maine Community College receive some sort of financial aid!

The Office of Financialkatahdin hall emcc enrollment center admissions financial aid dining hall Aid attempts to make our college affordable by providing financial assistance and advice to current and prospective students and parents. While students have the primary responsibility for financing their education, there are Federal, State, and college grants, scholarships, loans, and student employment to assist them. Financial aid is based on the student’s annual completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the availability of funds.

Do not wait for the formal acceptance to EMCC before filing your financial aid application!

The 2024-2025 FAFSA has been delayed until December 2023.

Due to some significant changes resulting from the FAFSA Simplification Act, the launch date for the 2024-2025 FAFSA has been delayed from its normal October 1st date. The changes aim to streamline the application process and make the form more user-friendly, as well as expand eligibility for federal financial aid.

While no firm date has been set, we are committed to keeping students and families updated.
