Health Care
Eastern Maine Community College does not offer health services.
Students are encouraged to use their primary care provider or the Penobscot Community Health Care’s (PCHC) Brewer Medical Center, located at 735 Wilson Street in Brewer.
Services provided by the Brewer Medical Center include:
- treatment of acute illnesses
- treatment of injuries
- counseling and testing for various health-related issues
- referrals as needed
Free or low cost health insurance for families with children and pregnant women is available through the State of Maine Department of Human Services. Information on the Maine Care program may be obtained by contacting the Department of Human Services at 14-877-KIDSNOW (1-877-543-7669).

Student Insurance information
All enrolled students are covered for Accident Medical Expense Benefits and Accidental Death Benefits subject to the terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of the Policy.
The plan provides coverage whether or not college is in session, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Coverage begins August 15, 2023 and terminates August 15, 2024. *No sickness benefits are provided. Click here for more information.
