Student Clubs & Activities

At Eastern Maine Community College there are countless ways to be active in the campus community. Involvement aims to strengthen the connection students have with the College and promotes academic and overall success. Whether it’s playing Dungeons and Dragons with our Gaming League, meeting in fellowship with the Golden Eagle Christian Fellowship or helping to coordinate one of our Student Senate activities, there’s something for everyone! If you don’t see the club for you – have no fear! You can start your own club or organization!

Anime Club – The Anime Club is not currently active but has usually been very popular with students. If a student leader wants to step up and get this club running, students would get together to enjoy anime together.

Gaming League – Gaming League is a club for gamers, by gamers. Our Gaming League club meets weekly to play tabletop strategy games, classic family board games, card games, Dungeons, and Dragons, and so much more!

Golden Eagle Christian Fellowship – Our Golden Eagle Christian Fellowship is currently inactive and in need of some student leaders to get it running again. When the club is active, they welcome any interested students to join them for their weekly scripture reading and discussion, as well as fellowship activities.

Handicrafting Club: EMCC’s newest club offers a community for students with a passion for crafting and is open to all, regardless of how much or how little experience students have with crafting.

International and Multicultiral Club – The International and Multicultural Club brings students and the campus community together to celebrate diversity in all ways, big and small. They host a variety of events each semester, such as Foods from Home, and welcome students of all backgrounds to join the club.

Intramural Sports – Our Intramural Sports program is offered in collaboration with the Johnston Gymnasium and offers activities like pickup games of basketball or soccer. Intramurals are run by student leaders, which does mean availability is dependent.

Outdoor Recreation ClubThe Outdoor Rec Club gets together to do a variety of things like hiking, wilderness exploration, snowshoeing, disc golf, and hammocking!

Phi Theta Kappa – Phi Theta Kappa provides opportunities for the development of leadership and service, an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, lively fellowship for scholars, and areas of interest for continuing academic excellence. Membership is by invitation and you can visit their page by clicking here

Students Advocating for Equality (SAFE) – Students Advocating For Equality is dedicated to LGBTQ+ students, and allies. This group meets weekly to foster a safe space for these students as well as to serve as advocates for change in the community. They host awareness programs and celebrate events like National Pronouns Day.

SkillsUSA – EMCC’s SkillsUSA club is a career and technical education organization. SkillsUSA is a national organization that is dedicated to the advancement of these fields. You can learn more about Skills USA here.

Strings and Sing – Strings and sings is exactly what it sounds like! This is a group for students who enjoy singing and/or strumming various stringed instruments from fiddles to ukuleles and everything in between!

Student Nurses Association – NSNA’s mission is to mentor students preparing for initial licensure as registered nurses, and to convey the standards, ethics, and skills that students will need as responsible and accountable leaders and members of the profession. The Nurses’ Pinning Ceremonies are an important tradition that the Student Nurses fundraise for, plan, and run with the help of their faculty.

Student Senate – EMCC’s Student Senate meets weekly to develop policies and procedures to advance other students clubs and organizations, plan and host campus-wide programs, and respond to student and campus needs.

Student Veterans of AmericaWhile this club is currently inactive and waiting for a passionate student to take the lead, it has traditionally been a tight-knit collection of many Veterans and family members of Veterans who get together regularly to share information about resources and to experience a community of fellow students who are aware of the unique experiences Veterans and their families share as students.
