Bangor, ME – Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) has recently been named the #3 best community college in the US of 2021 by Academic Influence, an academic and data-driven website that works to “provide an objective, non-gameable influence-based ranking for people, schools, and disciplinary programs.” These rankings were also featured in Forbes.
EMCC was noted as being particularly influential in programs like nursing and other medical fields, criminal justice, education, and stands out for its overall low cost and high earnings after graduation.
Forbes spoke with Jed Macosko, president of Academic Influence and a physics professor at Wake Forest University, and quotes him as saying, “Community colleges are an integral part of the whole process by which Americans learn and acquire skills. Academic Influence’s big data approach highlights these institutions and gives a fresh perspective on the ones that, nationwide, are doing a terrific job. At the state level, our rankings will provide students more data about each school’s track record, and we hope they will be a welcomed resource for people looking for a good community college option.”
In addition to being ranked the #3 best community college in the country, EMCC was ranked the #1 community college in Maine.
Fall term begins August 30th with expanded online, in-person, and hybrid course options. There is still time to apply using the free online application at www.emcc.edu/apply.
