EMCC Automotive Students Advance to Final Four in National Mopar CAP Bracket Challenge

October 28, 2025

Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) has advanced to the Final Four in the Mopar Career Automotive Program (CAP) Bracket Challenge, a nationwide competition that brings together top automotive technology programs from across the country.

The Mopar CAP Bracket Challenge tests students’ technical skills, professional readiness, and program performance through a series of increasingly demanding rounds. Out of more than 100 participating schools, EMCC is now one of only four remaining in the competition.

The competition began with a program-level submission that secured EMCC’s spot in the national bracket. In Round 1, four EMCC students completed a 200-question written test based on the Mopar CAP curriculum, defeating Fresno City College. In Round 2, two students participated in a professional interview and résumé competition, earning a victory over Manchester Community College in Connecticut.

Now, the EMCC team moves on to Round 3, the Technical Hands-On Challenge, where two students will travel to a Stellantis Technical Training Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts, to complete real-world diagnostic and repair exercises under the supervision of professional trainers. The top two schools from this round will advance to the National Championship in Auburn Hills, Michigan, with a chance to win use of a Dodge Demon performance car for a year and a Mac Tools trophy set for the program.

“This challenge pushes our students to work together, think critically, and apply everything they’ve learned in the shop and classroom,” said Chris Davis, chair of EMCC’s Automotive Technology program. “I couldn’t be prouder of how far they’ve come.”

The Mopar CAP program, a partnership between Stellantis and participating colleges, provides students with industry-specific training and pathways to employment with Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Fiat dealerships across the country.
