Phlebotomy Instructor

Eastern Maine Community College is seeking an experienced Phlebotomy Instructor to teach
Introduction to Phlebotomy course in conjunction with Northern Light Laboratory. The course is
held twice per year in the spring and fall semesters.

This course meets for a total of 56 hours (40 classroom, 16 clinical). Class is held on Tuesday
and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 8pm for 10 weeks. Clinicals are conducted by Northern
Light Laboratory at the Eastern Maine Medical Center campus. The maximum class size is 20
students, vetted through an application and interview process.

Qualifications:
Instructor should be certified (ASCP preferred), have experience in the field (5 years with 2-3 in
a hospital setting), have some teaching experience, and have taken a formal course in
phlebotomy. The instructor should also have the capability to choose a qualified lab assistant to
assist during the practical phase of the course.
This position is hired directly through EMCC’s Business & Industry department on a contractual
hourly basis.
