EMCC’s Building Construction Program Honored by Habitat for Humanity

Eastern Maine Community College’s Building Construction program was recently honored with the Robinson Speirs Memorial Award from Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor. The award was presented at Habitat for Humanity’s Volunteer Appreciation event held at the Sea Dog in Bangor on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. Students from EMCC’s Building Construction program have helped to build numerous houses for Habitat over the years. Students not only get first-hand, real-world experience through this ongoing collaboration, but they are able to give back to the community by offering opportunities for families to own a decent, affordable home.
