Hi! I’m Erica Hutchinson (second photo from the left above) and I’m thrilled to have just joined Eastern Maine Community College as the Director of Advancement and Executive Director of the EMCC Foundation. I’ve most recently been with a small private college in Maine creating philanthropic partners, developing community support and providing scholarship opportunities for students and faculty. I’m looking forward to meeting you and connecting your desire to support our students’ educational journey. EMCC is the community connector for students, professionals, and businesses.

True to EMCC’s community, there has been an outpouring of generosity. Offers to share airline miles, free WIFI access, food resources are just a few among many messages I’ve received in my first few weeks here. Many are also reaching out to ask how to help. Thank you!

As we continue to make the transition to eliminate face-to-face classes we are embracing new technologies and approaches for engaging our students. We realize there are more challenges ahead of us, particularly keeping our students engaged to successfully complete their current classes. In the coming weeks we know we will meet challenges yet identified, but we are readying ourselves to move headlong into the unknown with the focused commitment to serving our students at every point. To that end, we have created the “EMCC Together” fund. This resource will provide us with the ability to respond swiftly to any student needs; in particular, challenges making it difficult for students to stay on their educational path.
