Our Adventures in Healthcare program provides high school students with the opportunity to explore a wide variety of healthcare careers through hands-on activities and exciting tribe challenges. Campers actually practice casting, suturing (on bananas), and spine immobilization. They take x-rays and use laparoscopic robots in the EMCC operating room. They sometimes even get to sit in a Lifeflight helicopter! They not only see the tools our professionals use, but they get to touch and use them as well. This component of our program is what makes it truly unique! Trust us, it is a jam-packed 4 days of fun, excitement, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences!
Adventures in Healthcare is a unique four-day overnight camping experience for high school students that allows them to “test drive” careers in healthcare. Campers will be introduced to a variety of healthcare professions, including (but not limited to):
From suturing, casting, and simulation labs, to wheelchair races and water challenges, campers will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore careers in a variety of healthcare professions in a safe, fun, and exciting environment.
