Graduates of the certificate program will meet the requirements for certification as an MHRT/C.  This allows the graduate to work as an entry-level health practitioner.

The Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Technician Certificate provides the necessary coursework for individuals who are interested in becoming substance abuse counselors.  Courses are designed to provide students with an understanding of substance use, abuse, and addiction in addition to rehabilitation and counseling strategies.  Students will become proficient in interviewing, assessment, group facilitation, and other skills necessary to provide individual or group counseling services.
